❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Spanish verb conjugation levels?
Spanish verb conjugation skills are divided into five progressive levels: A1 (Beginner) covers present tense regular and irregular verbs. A2 (Elementary) covers preterite and imperfect past tenses. B1 (Intermediate) covers future, conditional, and present perfect. B2 (Upper Intermediate) covers present and imperfect subjunctive. C1 (Advanced) covers past perfect subjunctive, conditional perfect, and all tenses combined.
How do I know which conjugation level to practice?
Use the diagnostic test at the top of this page. It adapts to your ability and tells you exactly which level to start with. The test takes about 5-10 minutes and covers all tenses from A1 to C1.
How long does it take to master each conjugation level?
With regular practice (15-20 minutes daily), most learners complete A1 in 4-6 weeks, A2 in 6-8 weeks, B1 in 8-10 weeks, B2 in 10-12 weeks, and C1 in 12-16 weeks. However, everyone learns at their own pace. Our progressive quizzes let you practice until you feel confident.
What’s the best way to progress through conjugation levels?
Start with the diagnostic test to find your current level. Then practice consistently at that level until you score 80% or higher on the mixed challenge. Then move to the next level. Don’t skip levels – mastering foundations makes advanced tenses much easier.
Do I need to master all verb tenses to be fluent?
For everyday conversation, B1 level (future, conditional, present perfect) is sufficient for most situations. B2 (subjunctive) is needed for expressing opinions, emotions, and hypotheticals. C1 is for advanced academic or professional fluency. Start with A1 and work your way up based on your goals.
